News o ACM Solid and Physical Modeling Best Paper Award: " Isogeometric analysis and shape optimization via boundary integral" by Kang Li and Xiaoping Qian won the Best Paper Award in SIAM/ACM GD/SPM 11 in Orlando, FL. (Nov 2011). o
Dr. Qian awarded an NSF
grant to
study direct measurement from scan data (July 2010) o
Dr. Qian to offer a
tutorial on Isogeometric
Modeling, Analysis and Optimization in the upcoming 2010 ASME IDETC/CIE
conferences in Montreal, Canada. Also, there will be a workshop on Isogeometric Analysis to be held
in UTexas, Austin (July 2010). o
"SLICING POINT-SET SURFACES WITH TOPOLOGICAL
GUARANTEE," by Pinghai Yang, Kang Li and Xiaoping Qian, has been
selected as the Prakash Krishnaswami CAPPD best paper award in the
upcoming 2010 ASME IDETC/CIE conferences. The award comes with a plaque and a
check for $500. (July 2010) o
Arash (Ph.D. student)
won Research Poster Competition awards for his work in "Planning AFM
based Nano Manipulation, " third place in the University competition, and 2nd place in the
Department competition (April 2010) o
